After a defensive mix-up in Lobo Guará's zone, Daniel Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Anaya came out of the goal and Daniel Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rdth minute of the game Daniel Sousa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lobo Guará's Daniel Anaya was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lobo Guará's Daniel Anaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Sousa in the 36th minute of play. After 46 minutes Lobo Guará's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wilton Fontes who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Jarl Rossebø heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After the first half Capibaribe Stars were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 71 minutes, Daniel Sousa made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. Lobo Guará's Daniel Anaya tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Nuno Cardoso in the 74th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Capibaribe Stars's Wilton Fontes. But to his dismay, Nuno Cardoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5.
