Krum Nikolchov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Lokomotiv Plovdiv's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Facundo Cadaval heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Lokomotiv Plovdiv's Krum Nikolchov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when Lokomotiv Plovdiv was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zdzislaw Obuchowicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mirolyub Dragoychev in the 35th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Zdzislaw Obuchowicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luca Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Krum Nikolchov having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lokomotiv Plovdiv's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Krum Nikolchov came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when Lokomotiv Plovdiv was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yulian Florov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yulian Florov hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The wind increased when Sven Brask made the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Brask in the 51st minute of play. Lokomotiv Plovdiv's attack was well implemented in the 53rd minute, but when Mirolyub Dragoychev was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Krum Nikolchov, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 69 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Rouco. 72 minutes into the game, Lokomotiv Plovdiv's Facundo Nazario nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Krum Nikolchov threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alberto Tafalla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Krum Nikolchov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
