When Will Queraria in the 23rd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Dante Lacasa kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Will Queraria tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Ibarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Will Queraria got free with Dante Lacasa in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Will Queraria scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 2-1. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Paulo Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Felix Luque got a free kick in the 46th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 48 minutes, Dante Lacasa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
