Mahmud Alp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 12th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s Mahmud Alp. Mahmud Alp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Chu Zhen Xun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Chu Zhen Xun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 24 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mahmud Alp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Chu Zhen Xun came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abubakar Kamarád to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Mahmud Alp. ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chu Zhen Xun made a kick off. A collision led to ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
