Corneliu Ciorobîtcă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. With an all-out effort, Bagarby Bollklubb's Joaquin Gayoso threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ludomil Nowakowski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 37th minute of the match, Corneliu Ciorobîtcă got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joaquin Gayoso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Camilo Franco came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camilo Franco couldn't finish the play. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Börje Grönberg, made in the 43rd minute of the game. After 46 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Franco.

The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bagarby Bollklubb fans cheered their team off the field, for while Uruguay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
