After 14 minutes, Segundo Inge made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Jagiellonia Denver's Andy Gaston tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alvaro Hernando took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andy Gaston. Andy Gaston dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After having played for 25 minutes, Alvaro Hernando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RIVER's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Hernando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th minute, Nicasio Mendebal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andy Gaston was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Felicien Schwartz charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felicien Schwartz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th match minute, Jagiellonia Denver was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felicien Schwartz to maneuver through the defense. Andy Gaston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Esdras, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, RIVER's goal looked a bit too open when Hoyt Dove came free, but Narciso Jerrald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narciso Jerrald showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hoyt Dove, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Ixaka in the 48th minute of play forced Jagiellonia Denver's goalkeeper Andy Gaston to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alvaro Hernando to strike the kick off in the second half. Segundo Inge might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andy Gaston. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Segundo Inge ran back to his position shaking his head. Andy Gaston made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicasio Mendebal in the 55th minute. In the 62nd minute, Segundo Inge reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andy Gaston. The goal made the score 0-6. Alvaro Hernando had several of the Jagiellonia Denver's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 68 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-7 score and a disappointed Andy Gaston as he didn't even see the shot coming. 74 minutes into the match, Eloy Cordero dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Andy Gaston, 0-8. With a little luck, Jagiellonia Denver's Andy Gaston got control of the ball when Alvaro Hernando tried to sneak it across the goal line. Odilon Hodges kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. If Segundo Inge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alvaro Hernando got free with Andy Gaston in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jagiellonia Denver's Andy Gaston proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Jagiellonia Denver from getting a goal against them. RIVER's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
