In the 10th match minute, Jagiellonia Denver was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clement McCormick to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, RIVER's Nicasio Mendebal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 18 minutes into the game, RIVER's Nicasio Mendebal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antonio Grossman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 21 minutes, Segundo Inge made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Jagiellonia Denver's Antonio Grossman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hoyt Dove hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Jagiellonia Denver's Carmine Kenny got a free kick in the 29th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Jagiellonia Denver's goal looked a bit too open when Eustacio Nevada came free, but Antonio Grossman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. RIVER were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Jagiellonia Denver's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Candido Opilano took the corner. In the 36th minute Hoyt Dove shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Jerrald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, RIVER's goal looked a bit too open when Hoyt Dove came free, but Narciso Jerrald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

RIVER's Anselmo Esdras was substituted for Cristian Jerardo. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Micah LeBatelier made a kick off. Antonio Grossman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Ixaka in the 57th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, RIVER's goal looked a bit too open when Micah LeBatelier came free, but Narciso Jerrald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When RIVER's Nicasio Mendebal in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Narciso Jerrald was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hoyt Dove showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-3 in the 89 minute of play. Segundo Inge took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antonio Grossman. Antonio Grossman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The RIVER fans cheered their team off the field, for while Jagiellonia Denver had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
