Mauro Godines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kim Bolas, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Luis Medeiros made in the 7th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Sliema Dragons FC's Pepe Ferreira. 8 minutes into the game, Kim Bolas lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Mauro Godines. Kim Bolas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Mauro Godines when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kim Bolas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mauro Godines came out and tried to block the shot, but Kim Bolas slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 17th minute. Mauro Godines made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kim Bolas in the 21st minute. Edinho de Queirós was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the game, one of Sliema Dragons FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kim Bolas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mauro Godines having to make a save. A hard shot 32 in the game by Kim Bolas from a close distance when the talented Mauro Godines managed to make a qualified save. Camino Rojo's players were relieved. Mauro Godines came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Sliema Dragons FC's Kim Bolas. But to his dismay, Kim Bolas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Kim Bolas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Mauro Godines skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 47th minute Kim Bolas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Godines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kim Bolas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, Sliema Dragons FC's Kim Bolas made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauro Godines was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kim Bolas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Camino Rojo defense, Kim Bolas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauro Godines. The Camino Rojo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro Godines should have stopped the shot. Luis Medeiros hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute Dejan Cassar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Godines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dejan Cassar in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauro Godines saved Camino Rojo from getting behind. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Camino Rojo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baran Erozan was slow to take the kick. During this time Sliema Dragons FC's players had a chance to rest. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of Camino Rojo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sliema Dragons FC:s goal. In the 85th minute Xosepe Hortega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barrie Kerridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barrie Kerridge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xosepe Hortega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Leszek Cupial hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Camino Rojo's Humberto Alguerdo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Camino Rojo's goalie prevented a goal. Barrie Kerridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mai Ting Jian in the 94th minute of the match. Mauro Godines didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dejan Cassar went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sliema Dragons FC fully deserved thier win.
