The audience was convinced that Vassilis Tournas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Ahonen was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. 1-0 became the score in the 5th minute when Osvaldo Somoza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Joel Ahonen came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Tabachana F.C.'s Alexis Idrotoglou. But to his dismay, Alexis Idrotoglou quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 12th minute Alexis Idrotoglou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Ahonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute Panos Pachopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Ahonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vassilis Tournas in the 16th minute of play forced Revolución Joao FC's goalkeeper Joel Ahonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Tabachana F.C.'s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Negral. 24 minutes into the match, Revolución Joao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexis Idrotoglou came free, but Joel Ahonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tabachana F.C.'s Thibaut Courtois proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Tabachana F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute, Xesus Cortes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thibaut Courtois. The goal made the score 2-1. Joel Ahonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexis Idrotoglou in the 37th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Humberto Carillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the game, Alexis Idrotoglou cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Joel Ahonen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Osvaldo Somoza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Denis Negral hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Panos Pachopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Joel Ahonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexis Idrotoglou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Joel Ahonen made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Tabachana F.C.'s zone, Vilson Borrero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thibaut Courtois came out of the goal and Vilson Borrero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 63 played minutes Tabachana F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Avraam Vikatos. Joel Ahonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexis Idrotoglou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tabachana F.C.'s Thibaut Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xesus Cortes in the 73rd minute of play. Thibaut Courtois didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xesus Cortes went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Vassilis Tournas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Ahonen having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Tabachana F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Xesus Cortes came free, but Thibaut Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 minutes, Evelio Mondrevilla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Revolución Joao FC and the Tabachana F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Evelio Mondrevilla hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Tabachana F.C.'s Joel Ahonen threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vassilis Tournas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tabachana F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
