Antonio Arias hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, Nejat Alp Talayhan made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in 18 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Başaran Ötüken guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The supporters of Northern Lights booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
