Nykvarn's Carl Anundsson got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bertil Sjöberg having to interfere. Bertil Sjöberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. When Jorge Magrina came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Magrina couldn't finish the play. Carl Anundsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ricardo Zorita could save by the left post. Moises Fernandino kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match, Anton Gallberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ricardo Zorita saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Marco Tamayo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. When Luis Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Luis Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute, Luis Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Rikard Wallin made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Nykvarn's Rikard Wallin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Zorita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 51st minute, Rikard Wallin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nykvarn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Rikard Wallin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nykvarn's supporters rose to their feet, but Rikard Wallin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorge Magrina hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 69 minutes of play, Nykvarn's Carl Anundsson made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Anton Gallberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. 81 minutes into the game, Jorge Magrina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nykvarn the free kick. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Jorge Magrina got a free kick in the 81st minute. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Gallberg in the 84th minute of play. When Peder Ingvall fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nykvarn's protests and gave Peder Ingvall a yellow card for diving instead. Peder Ingvall hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 played minutes Nykvarn got a freekick which was hit by Carl Anundsson. After 96 minutes, Joshua Curbelo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Nykvarn players grew even worse after the yellow card.
