Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The crowd rose to their feet as Rondo's Charly Rusterholz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. Rondo's Orestis Lazarou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 22 minutes, Rick de Zee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rondo and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes Rondo got a freekick which was hit by Rick de Zee. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charly Rusterholz in the 24th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Luis Andino managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After some careless play in the Rondo defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orestis Lazarou. The Rondo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orestis Lazarou should have stopped the shot. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orestis Lazarou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Montes's late challenge caught a Rondo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Montes helped the player get up and apologised. Cristian Sancho scored 1-3 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orestis Lazarou, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charly Rusterholz to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Charly Rusterholz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Charly Rusterholz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnout Arends in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 58 minutes into the game, Jacco Hekman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Charly Rusterholz struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rondo. Charly Rusterholz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Rondo's goalkeeper Orestis Lazarou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. With a little luck, Rondo's Orestis Lazarou got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 81 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Orestis Lazarou was left in no man's land by his defense there! 86 minutes into the match, Rondo's goalkeeper Orestis Lazarou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When Roeland Hoogendorp fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rondo's protests and gave Roeland Hoogendorp a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 played minutes Rondo got a freekick which was hit by Roeland Hoogendorp. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Orestis Lazarou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Orestis Lazarou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Rondo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacco Hekman didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rondo.
