In the 31st minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Onana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Onana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sielce Warszawa's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Onana came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. André Onana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roman Kaczynski made a kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Janusz Haskiewicz in the 53rd minute of the match. Robert Grunwalski's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robert Grunwalski helped the player get up and apologised. 57 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Janusz Haskiewicz came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Kaczynski in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Roman Kaczynski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roman Kaczynski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Kajetan Glapiak:s penalty. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sielce Warszawa's Edin Džeko was substituted for Janusz Haskiewicz. When Sielce Warszawa's Edin Džeko in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 98th minute, Edin Džeko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sielce Warszawa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Sielce Warszawa had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
