The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucjan Bejger in the 54th minute of play. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Brummer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 64th playminute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucjan Bejger in the 70th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 74th minute. Jakub Kornaszewski hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roque Claus in the 83rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Karl-Åke Brummer firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Juan Sebastián Puig came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Sebastián Puig couldn't finish the play. 92 minutes into the match, Lucjan Bejger notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th minute of the match Nicolai Nowak shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
