When Rab 谢霆锋 fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Nerd Herd's protests and gave Rab 谢霆锋 a yellow card for diving instead. Luz Tejedor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enzo Noce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After 28 minutes of play, Peru's Luz Tejedor made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enzo Noce was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ni Zhan Kun's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Julian Murillo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enzo Noce having to make a save. After 36 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Alonso Berganza. The Nerd Herd's Odysseas Lagidis shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 36th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Rolando Noboa but with some difficulty. Enzo Noce came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Milagros Fraga. But to his dismay, Milagros Fraga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Enzo Noce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 41st minute of the match. Peru were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after The Nerd Herd's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of The Nerd Herd's goalie and right to Eliseo Mina. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. The Nerd Herd's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. A collision led to The Nerd Herd getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Marian Banas hit a great ball. Enzo Noce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 69th minute of the match. Ni Zhan Kun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Nerd Herd's Enzo Noce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 88th minute of play.
