The supporters of Ecuador booed when Palestine Free Land was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nana Sahuleka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eros Kawuri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Palestine Free Land's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Eros Kawuri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gerard Paine came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Palestine Free Land fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerard Paine couldn't finish the play. Gerard Paine came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. Eros Kawuri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. Nana Sahuleka struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestine Free Land. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Randy Suryadinata kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Thomas Wirahadikusumah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerard Paine got free with Julio Vera in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Eros Kawuri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 51st minute of the match. A collision led to Palestine Free Land getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Hans Ruchiyat hit a great ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Paine in the 60th minute of play. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eros Kawuri having to interfere. Palestine Free Land's Setyo Sarwono was substituted for Syukron Kuncoro. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Eros Kawuri made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerard Paine in the 69th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lexi Fachrudin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Palestine Free Land's Thomas Wirahadikusumah got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Palestine Free Land made a substitution. Nandang Tuheteru replaced Randy Suryadinata. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Idrus Tabusala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 85 minutes Palestine Free Land's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montenegro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
