Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute of the game Albert Marioteanu made a throw-in which Marian Tinu played forward. The supporters of Miercani booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Beldad didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grigore Constantin. Miercani's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Ion Oniga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ion Oniga in the 60th minute of play. Narcis Timofte kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Grigore Constantin made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Camilo Franco sent off a good shot on target. Marian Tinu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Miercani's Grigore Constantin got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Miercani's Nichifor Abutnăriței sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 83 played minutes Miercani got a freekick which was hit by Tudor Toma. After 87 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Gisbert. The supporters of Miercani booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 95 played minutes Iosif Pacuraru shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso to catch but Iosif Pacuraru was lucky. It became 3-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. The Miercani support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
