But to his dismay, Stig-Åke Gabrielsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jarl Malm was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Viola Invest:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Buffalo Timişoara:s goal. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Buffalo Timişoara. Vali Voicescu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dumitru Doloman. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Zbora in the 13th minute of play forced Viola Invest's goalkeeper Dumitru Doloman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ionică Buculeasa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Dumitru Doloman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Gabrielsson in the 22nd minute of play forced Buffalo Timişoara's goalkeeper Hunor Csapó to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hunor Csapó showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Åke Gabrielsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 29 minutes, Mario Jakobe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viola Invest and the Buffalo Timişoara players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valentin Voicu came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dumitru Doloman could save by the left post. When João Francisco Britto fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buffalo Timişoara's protests and gave João Francisco Britto a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Buffalo Timişoara's João Francisco Britto got a free kick in the 38th minute. If Mario Jakobe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrian Zbora made a kick off. Stig-Åke Gabrielsson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 54th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionică Buculeasa in the 57th minute of play forced Viola Invest's goalkeeper Dumitru Doloman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Ionică Buculeasa notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman. Dumitru Doloman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Gabrielsson in the 67th minute of play forced Buffalo Timişoara's goalkeeper Hunor Csapó to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Zbora in the 73rd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Buffalo Timişoara's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Gabrielsson came free, but Hunor Csapó reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute Adrian Zbora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dumitru Doloman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 played minutes Buffalo Timişoara got a freekick which was hit by Cornel Timofte. Buffalo Timişoara made a substitution. Marin Tufescu replaced Ionică Buculeasa. Cornel Timofte kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Buffalo Timişoara defense, Mario Jakobe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hunor Csapó. The Buffalo Timişoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hunor Csapó should have stopped the shot. Mario Jakobe came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hunor Csapó could save by the left post. Mario Jakobe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mario Jakobe came free in the 93rd minute and tried to tip the ball over Hunor Csapó, but to the joy of Buffalo Timişoara's supporters the ball went over. The Buffalo Timişoara supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Viola Invest's performance. The match ended with a win for Viola Invest.
