Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme de Amaral in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Enio Dracena notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Władcy Pomorza's Enio Dracena suffered a concussion after 19 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Moruga during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Władcy Pomorza made a substitution. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luiz Guilherme de Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Władcy Pomorza's goalkeeper Barnaba Arendarski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 56 minutes, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Noboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81stth minute of the game Luiz Guilherme de Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Costa Rica players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Władcy Pomorza.
