When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cassius Byrne made a kick off. In the 89th minute Philip Drake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Bullen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jenson Smith was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. Sam Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Toni Schumacher made a huge save. A collision led to FC Bullen getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Kurt Pååk hit a great ball. A hard shot by Jenson Smith from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got Toni Schumacher's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Many of USA's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. USA may have spent more time on the ball, but FC Bullen were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
