União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 11th minute of play. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dabi Saens in the 24th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jerónimo Furtado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. União Sport Clube Paredes were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dabi Saens took the corner. After a rather tough play, União Sport Clube Paredes's Altino Palha got a free kick in the 57th minute. 58 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwin van der Sar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 71 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Santana came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 76th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edwin van der Sar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chants of Colombia echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as União Sport Clube Paredes had held the ball for most of the match.
