Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Intxixu Porregimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 4th minute of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Intxixu Porregimon. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Intxixu Porregimon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedrão Mello's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. The audience was convinced that Pedrão Mello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Germano Pernambucano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Intxixu Porregimon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play. The Mexilhão F. C. fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Mexilhão F. C.'s Pedrão Mello looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Intxixu Porregimon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arvin Larsson hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

In the 52nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Anaia Barba struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Intxixu Porregimon however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Intxixu Porregimon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. 72 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s Germano Pernambucano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 77thth minute of the game Pedrão Mello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 80th minute, Ronaldinho Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 84th minute Pedrão Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Mello in the 85th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Daniel Zorita fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Intxixu Porregimon, passed just outside the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Intxixu Porregimon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
