The corner ended in Kazimierz Sliwinski almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso did a great save. After 42 played minutes Fifth Chicken got a freekick which was hit by Krzysztof Wodaszak. In the 43rd minute, Francisco Seco made a precise shot to the right of Dobri Koks. Fifth Chicken's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Edílson Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Waldemar Tipinski took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
