After having played for 10 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Kevin Carballal hit a great ball. Canarinho Atordoado's Luís Gustavo Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 18th minute of play. Francisco Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Gustavo Souza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Canarinho Atordoado got a freekick which was hit by César Travassos. The crowd rose to their feet as Canarinho Atordoado's Evaristo Favoretto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 2-0 after 26 minutes of play. A collision led to Canarinho Atordoado getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Luiz Guilherme do Nascimento hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evaristo Favoretto in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Canarinho Atordoado's Tiago Gabriel Luz got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Seco made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Favoretto in the 53rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benedito Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Tiago Gabriel Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Luís Gustavo Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 73rd minute. Claudinei do Vale hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Canarinho Atordoado's zone, Francisco Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Gustavo Souza came out of the goal and Francisco Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Luiz Guilherme do Nascimento was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 81 minutes had been played. Luiz Guilherme do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Bruno Beldad kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. A collision led to Canarinho Atordoado getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Evaristo Favoretto hit a great ball. The long shot by Jaime Cazalla in the 90th minute really tested Luís Gustavo Souza's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Canarinho Atordoado's Claudinei do Vale got a free kick in the 91st minute. Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
