A nice corner shot did that Luan Boba got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joaquin Gayoso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great ball. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ndue Kurti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. Vullnet Boba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Cazalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Didier Drogba took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 47 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Beldad. 48 minutes into the match, Luan Boba sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Joaquin Gayoso threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Luan Boba this time. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
