Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 8th minute. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. In the 11th match minute, Maritek FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beppe Bassani to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Edmondo Lepori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmondo Lepori stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Gaona's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Edmondo Lepori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 17th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beppe Bassani's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beppe Bassani helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Maritek FC got a freekick which was hit by Beppe Bassani. After some careless play in the Maritek FC defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edmondo Lepori. The Maritek FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmondo Lepori should have stopped the shot. Edmondo Lepori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 42nd minute of play. Rocco Siffredi's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rocco Siffredi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Maritek FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Rocco Siffredi hit a great ball. Edmondo Lepori stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Maritek FC's Edmondo Lepori. Edmondo Lepori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Felix Luque hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Lautaro Mancebo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 57 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Edmondo Lepori was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Edmondo Lepori was a little too slow when Lautaro Mancebo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in Maritek FC's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmondo Lepori came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Facundo Cadaval's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmondo Lepori read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Maritek FC's Edmondo Lepori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Maritek FC from getting a goal against them. 70 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Maritek FC's Edmondo Lepori. Edmondo Lepori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edmondo Lepori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 75th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edmondo Lepori. Edmondo Lepori yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmondo Lepori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Cazalla in the 88th minute of play. Edmondo Lepori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmondo Lepori didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 94th minute, which inside left pole to 0-9. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
