Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Jacob Barroso sent off a good shot on target. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herberto Caiado in the 6th minute of play. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. In the 10th minute, Lautaro Mancebo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Francisco Infante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herberto Caiado scored 1-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lima Team's Francisco Infante. Francisco Infante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Francisco Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 44th minute of the match. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after Lima Team's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Lima Team's Francisco Infante did a great save. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Francisco Infante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Herberto Caiado made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Joel Gaona fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Francisco Infante, passed just outside the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Infante saved Lima Team from getting behind. Carlos Palmeira made in the 69th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Horácio Sobral immediately put the ball in play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herberto Caiado in the 70th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Francisco Infante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob Barroso in the 73rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 74 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gaona. Facundo Cadaval recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Facundo Cadaval got free with Francisco Infante in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 84th play minute Lautaro Mancebo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Francisco Infante. 1-2. 88 minutes into the game, Lima Team's Carlos Palmeira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 91st minute of the match, Alberto Tafalla tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Francisco Infante saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 93 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Herberto Caiado came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Facundo Cadaval charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Facundo Cadaval the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Mexico were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Lima Team to leave the ground with a draw.
