The crowd rose to their feet as Lima Team's Jacob Barroso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 after 19 minutes of play. When Jonathan Venegas fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jonathan Venegas a yellow card for diving instead. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herberto Caiado went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After 25 minutes, Raimundo Cerqueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lima Team and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Lima Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raimundo Cerqueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anselmo Domingos might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anselmo Domingos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 31st minute, Anselmo Domingos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Palmeira in the 33rd minute. In the 35thth minute of the game Herberto Caiado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lima Team's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Infante came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Herberto Caiado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herberto Caiado in the 42nd minute of play. Francisco Infante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herberto Caiado was the one to do the kick off. When Jacob Barroso came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Lima Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Barroso couldn't finish the play. Rigoberto Mina charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rigoberto Mina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. The Lima Team fans' excitement grew in the 56th match minute when Lima Team's Herberto Caiado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 59 played minutes Lima Team got a freekick which was hit by José Cunha. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herberto Caiado in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Salvador Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herberto Caiado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Jacob Barroso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Jacob Barroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Lima Team walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
