Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After some careless play in the BAŞBUĞ defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jens Huybreghts. The BAŞBUĞ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jens Huybreghts should have stopped the shot. BAŞBUĞ's Jens Huybreghts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match Peru got a corner. BAŞBUĞ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jens Huybreghts in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jens Huybreghts came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Huybreghts having to interfere. Alonso Berganza kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Nilmar Marinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Nilmar Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar Marinho in the 53rd minute of play. Jens Huybreghts was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Julian Murillo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 63 minute of play. Jens Huybreghts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 66th minute of the match. Julian Murillo kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. BAŞBUĞ made a substitution. Enis Behiç Nizami replaced Nilmar Marinho. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hüseyin Can Orak in the 71st minute of play. BAŞBUĞ's Jens Huybreghts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save BAŞBUĞ from getting a goal against them. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Jens Huybreghts made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Julian Murillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jens Huybreghts. That made the score 0-5 in the 83 minute of play. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 88th minute Hüseyin Can Orak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute of the match, Rafael Gallo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jens Huybreghts saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Rafael Gallo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Gallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jens Huybreghts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
