The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xandinho Kane during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to New Joinville - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Xandinho Kane hit a great ball. Xande Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute of play. After some careless play in the New Joinville - FSCMZ defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xande Buffon. The New Joinville - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xande Buffon should have stopped the shot. In the 11th minute Xandinho Kane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lamine Xande kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Xande Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Xandinho Kane ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Ronaldo Viana hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Xande Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After having played for 26 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Primitivo Andino threw the ball into play from the sideline. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Chiquinho de Amorim quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Xande Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rdth minute of the game Felix Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New Joinville - FSCMZ's Xande Buffon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after New Joinville - FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Daniel Zorita got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-2. 35 minutes into the match. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Ronaldo Viana hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. 52 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Xandinho Kane came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xande Buffon having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Xande Buffon. The goal made the score 2-3. New Joinville - FSCMZ made a substitution. Emílio Martins replaced Durvalino Travassos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Xande Buffon in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Xande Buffon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The New Joinville - FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when New Joinville - FSCMZ's Xandinho Kane looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With his leg Xande Buffon managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when Ecuador's Agustín Saelices fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 84 minutes New Joinville - FSCMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Xande Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 85th minute. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Xande Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of play. When Ronaldo Viana fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Joinville - FSCMZ's protests and gave Ronaldo Viana a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st match minute, New Joinville - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldo Viana to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Xande Buffon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
