The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Alajos McAllister advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-0 in the 5th minute. Szilárd Danka's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Szilárd Danka helped the player get up and apologised. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márton Gombos having to interfere. Sporting Savaria's Márton Gombos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. Kálmán Mbappè could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play forced Sporting Savaria's goalkeeper Márton Gombos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eutropio Vera in the 19th minute. Márton Gombos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alajos McAllister. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Kálmán Mbappè made the kick off in the second half. Márton Gombos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Márton Gombos in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Márton Gombos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lajos Laczkó, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sporting Savaria's Márton Gombos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Savaria from getting a goal against them. Márton Gombos was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 1-4. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Márton Gombos could save by the left post. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Sporting Savaria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After 76 minutes Sporting Savaria's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. With a little luck, Sporting Savaria's Márton Gombos got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márton Gombos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Márton Gombos having to make a save. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Sporting Savaria defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Márton Gombos. The Sporting Savaria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Márton Gombos should have stopped the shot. Alajos McAllister kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sporting Savaria.
