Arvin Skager showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of the match. Konrad Hellbom's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Arvin Skager took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Zinedine Pogba sent off a good shot on target. Arvin Skager made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 34th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Nobels IF's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Arvin Skager reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Dorival Guimarães got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dorival Guimarães got free with Julio Vera in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 46 played minutes Nobels IF got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Guimarães. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Arvin Skager threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cristian Sancho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Arvin Skager made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arvin Skager in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arvin Skager having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Nobels IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Berdoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After 70 minutes of play, Nobels IF's Zinedine Pogba made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dorival Guimarães might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dorival Guimarães ran back to his position shaking his head. If Dorival Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arvin Skager narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Arvin Skager in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Arvin Skager to make any attempt to save it. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
