Arvid Treiner was slow to take the kick. During this time Fielzão's players had a chance to rest. Carlos Eduardo Aparecido came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Carlos Eduardo Aparecido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fielzão's Carlos Eduardo Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of play. Carlos Eduardo Aparecido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fielzão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fielzão's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88thth minute of the game Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos in the 90th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arvid Treiner in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
