Vladimír Dudík was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. Konstantin Pavelec went to the wrong direction when Tomas Illescas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 13th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantin Pavelec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dušan Jiříček fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Svatomír Oborný, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game was made by Mateo Edwardo with Nikolaj Balon as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Svatomír Oborný in the 26th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svatomír Oborný in the 30th minute of play. Mateo Edwardo scored 1-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Konstantin Pavelec. Patricio Costa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Svatomír Oborný blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. After 63 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Svatomír Oborný fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svatomír Oborný in the 70th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC Hellcats's Konstantin Pavelec got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th minute Sebastian Ionășescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Ionășescu in the 93rd minute of the match. If Svatomír Oborný had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
