Felix Montenegro scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Tudor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 1-1 became the score in the 9th minute when Måns Kjellman elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Martin Tudor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artemio Quiroga in the 17th minute of the match. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artemio Quiroga in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Martin Tudor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Måns Kjellman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Martin Tudor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Tudor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 played minutes FC ANC got a freekick which was hit by Ioan Andone. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The wind increased when Måns Kjellman made the kick off in the second half. Måns Kjellman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 50th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Dino Petricca notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 58 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of FC ANC's Martin Tudor. Artemio Quiroga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Martin Tudor in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 68 minutes into the match, FC ANC's goalkeeper Martin Tudor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. After a defensive mix-up in FC ANC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Tudor came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Kjellman, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 76 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Artemio Quiroga came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Måns Kjellman took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-2. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Martin Tudor made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, FC ANC's Norbert Kiss got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
