Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abram Sarmiento to strike the kick off in the second half. Geronimo Bonadona hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Axel Montenegro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 51st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luis Nardo. Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Lukáš Katačić fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Florida Gulf Coast's protests and gave Lukáš Katačić a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute Nestor Inko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Florida Gulf Coast supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Colombia's performance. The match ended with a win for Colombia.
