Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Cristobal Eneto made the kick off and thus started the match. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristobal Eneto in the 2nd minute. In the 4th minute of the match Deportivo Marplatense got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sven-Ove Olsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Andrew Robertson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 7 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Cristobal Eneto came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Leonardo Leoz in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Deportivo Marplatense's Oscar Presebal. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristobal Eneto's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Cristobal Eneto notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Deportivo Marplatense booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Leoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrew Robertson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Deportivo Marplatense's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Andrew Robertson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mikael Sjögren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 40th minute of play. Szabolcs Schimmer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrew Robertson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Felix Luque got a free kick in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Zorita in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mikael Sjögren saved Deportivo Marplatense from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Mikael Sjögren in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mikael Sjögren came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 64 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gaona. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. After 73 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Zorita. Albano Peter kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The supporters of Deportivo Marplatense booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Alberto Tafalla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mikael Sjögren. That made the score 1-2 in the 84 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristobal Eneto in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th minute, Andrew Robertson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristobal Eneto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Leonardo Leoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute Cristobal Eneto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
