Eric Gary had in the 23rdth minute some difficulties stopping Attila Kiss's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 23rd minute, Attila Kiss left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alvi Verde fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Eric Gary took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilbert Ugalde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Alvi Verde's Leandro Heidemann in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Jagiellonia Denver booed when Alvi Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Leandro Heidemann made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leandro Heidemann got free with Eric Gary in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Wilbert Ugalde could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Eric Gary however easily saved by the left post. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 67 minutes into the match, Leandro Heidemann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Gary. Jagiellonia Denver's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leandro Heidemann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Eric Gary made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Wilbert Ugalde sent off a good shot on target. Leandro Heidemann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eric Gary having to make a save. Jagiellonia Denver's Eric Gary played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Heidemann in the 74th minute of play. Jagiellonia Denver's Rudolf Garreau was substituted for Michal Majdoch. Alvi Verde's attentive Jorge Mattos managed to snatch the ball when Per-Olof Åkesson made a throw-in in the 79th minute of the game. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leandro Heidemann couldn't finish the play. 100 minutes into the game, Rudolf Garreau was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jagiellonia Denver's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alvi Verde the free kick. In the 100th minute, Rudolf Garreau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Alvi Verde supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alvi Verde would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
