Elderslie Magpies's Corder Clubley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Laurentzi in the 11th minute of play. Hector Gizon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Corder Clubley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Laurentzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Corder Clubley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Gizon in the 19th minute of play. Hector Gizon took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Corder Clubley. Corder Clubley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Rolando Telesforo kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Elderslie Magpies's Raleigh Dale dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. In the 33rd minute Ismael Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corder Clubley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Hector Gizon hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Hector Jakes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raleigh Dale. After a defensive mix-up in CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's zone, Brad Missen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hector Jakes came out of the goal and Brad Missen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ed Howard charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ed Howard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brad Missen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Osvaldo Loco fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's protests and gave Osvaldo Loco a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Osvaldo Loco got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute of the match Ed Howard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hector Jakes skillfully saved the ball. When Osvaldo Loco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 54 minutes had been played. After 54 played minutes CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Loco. After 56 minutes of play Elderslie Magpies's Ed Howard was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ed Howard kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Elderslie Magpies's Brad Missen got a free kick in the 59th minute. Corder Clubley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reynaldo Elodio in the 61st minute. After a rather tough play, Elderslie Magpies's Carlton Kaine got a free kick in the 64th minute. Ismael Laurentzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corder Clubley having to interfere. After some careless play in the CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE defense, Raleigh Dale kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hector Jakes. The CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hector Jakes should have stopped the shot. 86 minutes into the match, Elderslie Magpies's goalkeeper Corder Clubley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reynaldo Elodio. In the 95th match minute, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Menendo to maneuver through the defense. Drake Crampton succeeded in the game's 96th minute to get real power on a long shot . CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Hector Jakes hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 4-1!
