The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. In the 20th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Bonk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fred Bonk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Bonk having to interfere. After 25 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fred Bonk was left in no man's land by his defense there! 27 minutes into the match, 福建宁德活塞队's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Fred Bonk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Fred Bonk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind 福建宁德活塞队's goalkeeper Fred Bonk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 方桑正 to make the kick off. Fred Bonk was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Felix Montenegro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Felix Montenegro really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Fred Bonk made a huge save. 56 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fred Bonk. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. 福建宁德活塞队's Fred Bonk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save 福建宁德活塞队 from getting a goal against them. Fred Bonk made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred Bonk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 柯默渊 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 91 played minutes 福建宁德活塞队 got a freekick which was hit by 龙霆沙. In the 92nd minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fred Bonk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. 98 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fred Bonk. 福建宁德活塞队's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. The 福建宁德活塞队 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
