Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 24th minute Emanuel Emander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Eliseo Mina came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Mina couldn't finish the play. FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Zafer Hürsel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 29th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Charles Forsman in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Luz Tejedor hit a great ball. 33 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Håkan Kjellman fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Luz Tejedor, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Håkan Kjellman in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

With his leg Zafer Hürsel managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Peru's Julian Murillo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Luz Tejedor came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luz Tejedor couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute, Peru's Eliseo Mina ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zafer Hürsel. Zafer Hürsel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. After having played for 64 minutes, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Murillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 徐默钢 in the 94th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, 徐默钢 cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Peru players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg.
