Turgut Talha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Jose Abar sent off a good shot on target. Turgut Talha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Carballar in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Español's Alfredo Sotil got a free kick in the 24th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Vacid Nefer came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Abar in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Club Deportivo Español getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Petrică Bărbulescu hit a great ball. Mariano Lacasa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Turgut Talha. Club Deportivo Español's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 60 minutes Club Deportivo Español's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. 63 minutes into the game, Gerardo Pozo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Deportivo Español the free kick. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vacid Nefer in the 64th minute of the match. Vacid Nefer took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Vacid Nefer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Vacid Nefer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jose Manzanedo hit a great ball. Club Deportivo Español made a substitution. Arnaldo Queiroz replaced Tenho Sono. After a rather tough play, Chile's Jose Manzanedo got a free kick in the 76th minute. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes in the game, Vítor Carioca dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vacid Nefer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Español's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Carballar came free, but Turgut Talha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Deportivo Español's Turgut Talha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportivo Español from getting a goal against them. Vacid Nefer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Pliego having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Español's Vacid Nefer got a free kick in the 96th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
