The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Egídio Tinoco in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egídio Tinoco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Egídio Tinoco struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute.
