Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) UFC STEAUA's Nelson Mendoza started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of UFC STEAUA booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6thth minute of the game Nelson Mendoza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Mendoza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafet Faydalı in the 8th minute of play. Nelson Mendoza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. If Nelson Mendoza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nelson Mendoza went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Rafet Faydalı stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Rafet Faydalı tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Seremet in the 30th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of UFC STEAUA's João Massa. João Massa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Massa having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Nelson Mendoza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelson Mendoza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After 40 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Kong Xiang Hao. Xu Yue Yuan made in the 41st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gervásio Vilhena. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigel Seremet in the 43rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Gigel Seremet left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UFC STEAUA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. 47 minutes into the match, Nelson Mendoza dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 5-2. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-2 at half-time.

Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson Mendoza in the 57th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Nelson Mendoza notched a goal, 6-2, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Massa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomas Illescas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but João Massa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Massa having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Nelson Mendoza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, UFC STEAUA's João Massa got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by UFC STEAUA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Therkild Prendorf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by UFC STEAUA's Nelson Mendoza. But to his dismay, Nelson Mendoza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-2. After 82 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Mendoza. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. João Massa came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Illescas slotted it home off the left post making it 8-3 in the 84th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 94 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by UFC STEAUA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but João Massa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
