Abram Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Colombia booed when São Miguel do Oeste.SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorato Marz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeu Vergílio made in the 40th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Irfan Arnawa immediately put the ball in play. But to his dismay, Axel Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Boniel, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Boniel in the 80th minute of play. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Moises Boniel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Honorato Marz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Secada in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, one of Colombia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Colombia. The referee gave São Miguel do Oeste.SC a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Moises Boniel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. 3-2. Honorato Marz made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Ignacio Mastache sent off a good shot on target.
