With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Adriano Diaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Durval Tinoco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Deilmison Yashin having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Deilmison Bergkamp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Deilmison Bergkamp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th minute of the match Rubens Tasso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 30th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Deilmison Yashin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adriano Diaz struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deilmison Yashin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Durval Tinoco in the 44th minute. After a rather tough play, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Durvalino de Queirós got a free kick in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Deilmison Bergkamp was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jose Correa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Deilmison Yashin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Deilmison Yashin in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Deilmison Yashin did a great save. In the 82nd match minute, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltazar de Castro to maneuver through the defense. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 89th minute of play forced ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's goalkeeper Deilmison Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute, Deilmison Bergkamp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Rubens Tasso got a free kick in the 94th minute. Venezuela were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ to leave the ground with a draw.
