Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 4th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Arapașu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petruț Arapașu. The ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petruț Arapașu should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Leontin Hârtopanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Constantin Bădila received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Constantin Bădila slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 11th minute. After 18 minutes ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Constantin Bădila. Petruț Arapașu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 28th minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petruț Arapașu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Constantin Bădila cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Constantin Bădila made a kick off. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantin Bădila in the 51st minute of play. When ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s Constantin Bădila in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Grigore Bădilescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Grigore Bădilescu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ecuador's Julio Vera didn't even have to move. In the 70th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. After 71 played minutes, ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s Eusebiu Banica shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petruț Arapașu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Petruț Arapașu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute.
