Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Mino having to interfere. Froilan Soter kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 21 minutes of play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tobias Mino was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 27 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Maximiliano Quilino who took care of the corner kick. Albiceleste F.C.'s Maximiliano Quilino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lautaro Navarro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 30th minute, Luca Espinar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgilio Romildo. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Tobias Mino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Froilan Soter charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Froilan Soter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Albiceleste F.C. getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Froilan Soter hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Villa in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobias Mino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Timoteo Nofre hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. The Albiceleste F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Honduras were winning 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute Virgilio Romildo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albiceleste F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Edmundo Espiga scored to the left of an out of position Tobias Mino, making the score, 0-2. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 61 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmundo Espiga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. The supporters of Albiceleste F.C. booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Cabal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Romildo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Honduras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
