The La Pantera Azulgrana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dibag Martinez should have stopped the shot. Dibag Martinez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denis Fidele hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dibag Martinez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 39th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dibag Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 51 minutes into the game, Delmiro Heriberto threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 58th minute, Ahmet Sefer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Eliseo Mina came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Mina couldn't finish the play. Dibag Martinez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 61st minute. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Pantera Azulgrana's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Peru's Luz Tejedor to fire away a dangerous shot which Dibag Martinez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Dibag Martinez made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, La Pantera Azulgrana's Dibag Martinez got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dibag Martinez made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Dibag Martinez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 82nd minute. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Peru:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of La Pantera Azulgrana:s goal. Peru:s Rolando Noboa showed great skill when he stopped Mati Suárez:s penalty. Antonio Tenorio struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Dibag Martinez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 95th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Antonio Tenorio however managed to control. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dibag Martinez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. In the 97th play minute Rafael Gallo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dibag Martinez. 0-4.
