In the 11th minute, Eduardo Medina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Richard Samaniego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Agustín Saelices put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Richard Samaniego. In the 23rd minute, Agustín Saelices ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Richard Samaniego was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 26 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Richard Samaniego. Rossobianco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 31st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Samaniego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Gervasio Frantzes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-4. In the 38thth minute of the game Felix Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rossobianco's Richard Samaniego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Felix Montenegro put it in 1-5 from a short distance just to the right of Richard Samaniego. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 57th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Richard Samaniego in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Rossobianco's Richard Samaniego got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Rossobianco's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Richard Samaniego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Richard Samaniego despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Richard Samaniego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. Richard Samaniego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Richard Samaniego in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Richard Samaniego. The goal made the score 1-7. Richard Samaniego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-8 was the resulting score. In the 95th minute, Rossobianco's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rossobianco.
